I read this book yesterday morning, and couldn't put it down. My husband brought me breakfast and I ate while reading. It is a compelling story of the reality of the forces of good and evil and their effect in society. For those of you that didn't like the theology written in to the story line of "If Tomorrow Comes", you will love this book. It has all the drama, but is free of denominational "bias", although written from a Christian perspective. I would compare it to Frank Peretti, but Robinson doesn't dwell as long on the battles between angels and demons and yet demonstrates how far reaching their power actually is. It was very believable and gives a lot of food for thought as well as entertainment.For younger readers, I would definitely recommend the parent read the book first, only because some sensitive kids might have nightmares. It would definitely appeal to teens.
Language: one use of a Spanish swear word
Sex: only implied, and in the context of a married couple wanting to have a baby
Drugs/Alcohol: a server recommends a non-alcoholic beverage to his customer instead of wine so that his mind will be clear for an important presentation, later just a passing comment about champagne being consumed at a party in the enemy's organization, an inmate smoking, and the bad guy smoking a cigarette while talking to his "boss". To me these all set up the environment in which different scenes take place and at no time did I feel it was made to look good or desirable.
Violence: Obviously in a book of this genre there is going to be violence, between angels and demons, between humans and from demons to humans. I didn't think any of it was too graphic, unless maybe if you're reading this with a preteen. There are some descriptions of jail fights, shots fired by the enemy, some people wounded or killed, all depicted in a reasonable way to add to the plot, none of it gratuitous in my opinion.
The sequel, "The Heretic" is also great, and "Elijah", the final book in the trilogy, is due out in July.

This was not the type of novel I generally read, but I'm glad I took a chance on it. The story is the struggle of good vs. evil told in a gripping manner. The author certainly knows how to keep the reader engaged with this compelling tale.
Great read, loved the plot and the suspence.
This book takes you behind the scenes to he spiritual conflict going on around us and what happened to one Pastor who asked God to use him for real. Although fiction it is a compelling testimony to our need for total trust in the battle around us and a story you won't be able to put down. I would recommend this story for anyone interested in being a warrior for God.
A gripping, intense read. Really makes you think. The main character's development was executed flawlessly. I kept thinking I knew where he was going and then he'd surprise me again. I read this over a weekend and if I could have I wouldn't have stopped even to eat. My only complaint is that it's the first in a series and the next isn't out yet!! If you like action-packed novels with a strong Christian storyline you'll love this book. Just hang on for the ride.

You will love walking by faith and not by sight with. Elijah Brown alias the Pastor. The look back to the real Elijah at the altars of Baal. It was an inspiration, made me look at my own walk with God. We all know that without faith we can not please God. This books shows some reasons why that is so true.
I'm a Christian and enjoy stories about good versus evil in the spiritual realm because I believe there is a battle that each of us face every day in this world. Therefore, this was a book that intrigued me. What I enjoyed about the book was the over-arching story line of that God has a plan for this humble small town pastor. The story line was unique in aligning with biblical characters as a model but applying in modern circumstances. I enjoyed the parallelism and models of old testament figures in supplying hope for The Champion.
Awesome Christian Story! Can't say enough about this Series... Trust God and leave all the consequences to Him. Hard to do but here among all the action, physical attacks, and choices being made; you see it as the best way (as it should be). Sometimes we over think it; sometimes fear, greed, power, and/or money talk/reason over our better judgment. This author doesn't get bogged down in defining the characters or secondary details. I will definitely be reading more of his books. Thank you for an action packed great story!
